Seals and O Rings

We are proud to offer a high quality and extensive range of Seals and O Rings!

Oil seals and rotary shaft seals exclude dirt, dust, water, liquids and any foreign body while retaining lubricant in rotary shaft equipment. The purpose is to protect bearings and prolong the life of the equipment reducing the need for maintenance and repairs.

An O-ring, also known as a packing, or a toric joint, is a mechanical gasket in the shape of a torus; it is a loop of elastomer with a round cross-section, designed to be seated in a groove and compressed during assembly between two or more parts, creating a seal at the interface serving as a barrier for dirt and prevent leaks.

O-rings are generally quite simple to produce and are suitable for static and dynamic applications. Its purpose is to create a seal at the interface of two or more parts and is compressed during assembly.

Our Range of Seals

  • Oil Seals – Oil seals (also known as RB or gamma seals are rotary shaft seals which are made from synthetic elastomers and bonded to a metal case. They can be used in various applications. Oil seals prevent system lubricants from leaking as well as preventing the entrance of external contaminants.
  • Bonded Seals – Bonded seals are used in high pressure environments. They are made with vulcanised rubber bonded to the inside to suit the demands of the high pressure. The bonded seals have a rectangular section with a trapezoidal shaped rubber ring. Bonded seals eliminate the risk of leakage. Our bonded seals are available in a variety of sizes and in different metals. ASK engineers can advise you on the best suited metal depending on your specific application.
  • Wiper – Wiper seals extend the life of the seal by protecting the seal from dust and dirt. It comes in various different materials depending on application specifications:
    • Nitrile
    • Nitrile metal cased
    • Polyurethane
    • Polyurethane metal cased

  • Quad Ring – Quad rings are similar to O-rings in the sense that they offer symmetry. They are better suited to pneumatic applications because of their superior sealing qualities. Quad rings are available in all sizes and usually come in nitrile.
  • V Ring – V rings are used for shafts and bearings sealing axially against a counterface. V rings are reliable in sealing against dust, dirt, water, oil and other foreign bodies.
